Leeds Advocacy

Leeds People First

Leeds People First are a self-advocacy group.

Self-advocacy is people with learning disabilities speaking up for ourselves.

Self advocacy has taken forward the idea that people with learning disabilities need to be listened to. Professionals and carers who run services for people with learning disabilities should ask us what we want because no one knows better than we do.

We have a Management Committee that meet every month and we have a members meeting every 3 months.

At these meetings we work on issues that are important to us, we deliver training to other people and we campaign for our rights.

You can speak to us on 0113 243 9477.
